Day 1 : 2024 USATKD Final championships

The USATKD Final Championship of 2024 was held in Tulsa, OK from September 20th through September 22nd. Medalists from regional or national championships and top ranked athletes only are invited to this event.

Day 1 started with the special team trials for the 2024 Poomsae World Championships, which will be held in Hong Kong later this year. Master Ron Southwick and his pair partner Ms. Mildred is bound for Hong Kong after winning their team trials for the O60 division. And because winning the national team spot wasn’t enough, Master Ron Southwick added another gold medal from his O60 team division and 2 🥈medals from his individual and O50 team division as well.

Master Jan Trigg followed suit, winning 🥇 in the female team division and a 🥉 medal in her individual poomsae.

Both male and female -30 divisions were packed with highly talented athletes and the matches did not disappoint. The female finals match was contested with Jitae and Keumkang poomsaes. Chiara Flortildes came out on top in a very closely contested match, earning a gold medal. Yuri Kim was able to add to the medal count by winning a bronze medal. With Team ATMA earning a 🥇 and a 🥉 in the -30 female division.

Within 24 hours of competing at the Pan Am Series II in Peru, Eric Gun arrived in Tulsa, Oklahoma just in time for his -30 male division. With Koryo and Taegeuk 8 awaiting for him in the finals match, Eric won a 🥇 medal.
